Undeniably, the Jews are easily identified as the scapegoats the Nazis used as an excuse for all of the cruel things they did. The Jews made an easy target to blame.
During the Nazi takeover in 1993, only about .8% of Germany's population was Jewish. Most of the Jews lived in urban areas of Germany. Hitler's hatred of the Jews started with his Xenophobia (the intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries). Europeans were turning their frustration over with their problems on to these "strangers". The Anti-semitism that arose from the Nazis was the most grotesque the world had ever seen. Nazi ideology hoped to solve the "Jewish problem" once and for all. But it wasn't just Jews that were persecuted. Other unusual people were treated the same way. Homosexuals wore a pink star on their clothes, those with mental disabilities wore purple stars. Hitler and the Nazi party targeted anyone who wasn't beneficial to the world as Hitler wanted it to be. |
